Ragnarök delivered a commanding performance to clinch the Royal Calcutta Turf Club Trophy, the headline event of Monday’s race meeting held on October 5. Guided by jockey Surendra Singh, the horse demonstrated superior form to outpace the field in the 1,200-metre contest, crossing the finish line 1-1/2 lengths ahead of the runner-up, Glorious Power.

The victory marks a significant success for trainer D. Netto, with the horse owned by the partnership of Donald Anthony Netto and P. Ranga Raju. Glorious Power, ridden by Bhawani S, took second place, while Exclusive Black, with P. Trevor in the saddle, finished third, followed by Dyanoosh in fourth. The winning time for the feature race was recorded at 1 minute, 13.13 seconds.

Supporting Races and Results

The day’s card featured several other notable performances across the programme. In the Charminar Trophy over 1,600 metres, Love In Paris, ridden by Akshay Kumar and trained by K. Satheesh, secured a victory by 1-1/2 lengths over Kinship. Earlier in the day, the Mysore Race Club Trophy saw Power Of The Sea, with P. Trevor aboard, assert dominance in the 1,200-metre sprint, finishing two lengths clear of My Way My Rules.

The racing action began with the Land Of Glory Plate, where Calabasas, ridden by Swarup Singh, claimed the opening event. Champion Reef, under P. Trevor, followed up with a win in the Beloved Prince Plate, while the final race of the day, the Star Of Gwalior Plate, was won by December Rain, piloted by Mohit Singh. The event concluded with a series of competitive finishes across all six races, providing a full day of thoroughbred action for racing enthusiasts.
