Strong performances across the track
Storm Majesty was another to impress, showing fine nick during a 1200m exercise. The horse completed the distance in 1-27.5, with a notable 1000m split of 1-10 and a final 600m burst in 41 seconds. This performance highlighted a strong preparation phase, with the horse appearing well-balanced and responsive throughout the gallop.
In the same 1400m category, Darrington and Theos also put in solid work. Darrington stopped the clock at 1-43, while Theos finished in 1-41, both maintaining a consistent rhythm. Meanwhile, in the 1200m sessions, Carter and Count Basie moved impressively, recording times of 1-29 and 1-29.5 respectively, further adding to the depth of quality seen on the morning.
Refining form in shorter gallops
The morning's activity was not limited to the longer distances, as several horses engaged in shorter, sharper work to maintain their sharpness. Mericle Beauty stood out in the 1000m category, finishing in 1-13 with a 600m split of 43 seconds. True Punch also delivered a commendable effort over the same distance, clocking 1-14 with a quick 42-second final 600m.
On the inner sand track, Joyful Spirit, Bellavita, and Fiery Love all completed 600m exercises, showing good movement and stride length. The outer sand track also saw steady activity, with N R I Ace, Victoriaraya, Jolie’s Star, and Sea Diamond all moving freely during their respective 600m gallops. These sessions provide a crucial indicator of the current conditioning of the horses as they continue their training programs.
