Gauff, who grew up in Delray Beach, is scheduled to make her on-court appearances for the team during their home matches on December 14 and 15. The events will be hosted at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, the same venue that serves as the home ice for the NHL’s Florida Panthers.

The return of World Team Tennis marks a revival of the mixed-gender format originally established in 1974 by founders including Billie Jean King. The league will feature three franchises this season, with the Flamingos joined by teams based in New York and Toronto. The competition will introduce a revised match structure consisting of four singles sets—featuring men’s and women’s No. 1 and No. 2 players—alongside a mixed doubles super tiebreaker. Each squad will field two men and two women.

Meanwhile, the New York Empire Racquet Club has secured the services of US Open semifinalists Frances Tiafoe and Jessica Pegula.
The Toronto North Racquet Club will lean on local talent, with their squad featuring Canadian players Denis Shapovalov, Leylah Fernandez, Victoria Mboko, and Gabriel Diallo. As the league prepares for its December start, the inclusion of high-profile players like Gauff, Tiafoe, and Fernandez underscores the competitive nature of the tournament's return to the tennis calendar.
