Trainers and observers noted the sharp condition of several runners as they completed their scheduled exercise routines.
Among the standout performers, Moonveil, partnered with P. Trevor, delivered a fluent effort over 1200m, clocking 1-23.5, with the final 1000m covered in 1-9.5 and the concluding 600m in 42. Similarly, Tolkien, ridden by R. Pradeep, demonstrated that he retains his current form over a longer distance of 1600m, finishing in 1-57.5 with a notable 1000m split of 1-11.5.
Strong displays across the track
The morning session featured a variety of gallops across both the inner and outer sand tracks. Bulletproof, also under the guidance of P. Trevor, impressed over 1200m, recording a time of 1-24.5. In the same distance category, Moon Oracle, ridden by Chetan, showed he is in fine shape by stopping the clock at 1-30.5, with a sharp 600m finish of 41.
Other notable performances included Teak, who provided a solid display over 1000m in 1-14, and Shining Path, who pleased onlookers with a 1000m effort of 1-10. Ravishing Queen also drew attention during the 600m sprints, clocking 42.5. Further down the order, horses such as El Rey, Osaka, and Il Volo maintained steady progress, with El Rey shaping well over 1200m in 1-30.5.
Consistent preparation for runners
The training session provided a clear indication of the current fitness levels among the stable participants. Iron Mirage, working on the inner sand, completed 1000m in 1-7.5 and was noted to be in fine nick. Meanwhile, on the outer sand, several horses including Royal Vanguard, Celtic Goddess, and Bhagya moved with ease, ensuring they remain in good condition for their upcoming engagements.
As the morning concluded, the overall consensus from the track was one of satisfaction regarding the preparation of the horses. With the majority of the field moving freely and showing no signs of distress, the training staff will look to build on these foundations as they prepare their respective charges for future race days.
