A selection of thoroughbreds caught the eye during Wednesday morning's training exercises at the Bengaluru racecourse. As preparations continue for upcoming race days, several horses displayed notable form during their gallops on the inner and outer sand tracks, as well as during gate practice sessions.
Among those drawing attention for their condition were
Track Work and Gallops
On the outer sand track, Winfield, partnered by Aleemuddin, produced an attractive move over 1600m, clocking 1-56, with the final 600m covered in 42 seconds. Similarly, Siege Storm, ridden by Chetan, showed pleasing form over 1400m, finishing in 1-36.5 with a final 600m split of 43 seconds. Prokofiev also looked in fine nick over the same 1400m distance, recording a time of 1-40 with a 42-second final sprint.
Act Of Kindness, under Girish, delivered a fine display over 1200m, stopping the clock at 1-25 and covering the final 600m in 41 seconds. Other notable performers included Theos, who moved fluently over 1600m in 1-57, and Moonveil, who displayed plenty of energy while covering the same distance in 2-0.
Gate Practice Sessions
The morning also featured gate practice on the inner sand track, where The Archer stood out by jumping out smartly to record a time of 1-20 for the 1200m distance. In other gate trials, the pair of Rojo and Agrador took a smart jump to finish level in 1-22.5, while Vibrant Queen showed promise by finishing ahead of Agera in their 1200m practice, clocking 1-22.
Master Way also impressed during gate practice, jumping out well over 1400m to finish in 1-38. While most horses handled the sessions with professionalism, the morning was not without incident, as On The Rise proved difficult at the gates when paired with Bay View. Trainers and jockeys will look to build on these performances as the racing calendar progresses.
