The training session, which took place across both the inner and outer sand tracks, saw a variety of horses put through their paces. While several runners completed routine work, the efforts of Stud Poker and Caccini were particularly notable for their rhythm and efficiency.
Strong gallops from key contenders
Stud Poker, with Antony in the saddle, produced a fine display over 1200m. The horse clocked 1-25, covering the 1000m mark in 1-10.5 and finishing the final 600m in 41 seconds. This sharp effort indicates that the horse is hitting a productive patch of form.
Caccini, partnered by Shinde, was equally impressive during a longer 1600m gallop. The horse moved fluently throughout the exercise, recording a time of 1-58. The sectional splits were equally encouraging, with the 1400m completed in 1-40.5, the 1200m in 1-25.5, the 1000m in 1-10.5, and the final 600m in 43 seconds.
Supporting performances on the sand tracks
Other horses also showed positive signs during the morning. On the outer sand, Count Basie, ridden by D. Patel, worked well over 1000m, clocking 1-12 with a final 600m split of 43 seconds. Regal Aristocracy also pleased observers, completing 1200m in 1-30, with a 1000m time of 1-12 and a 600m finish of 43.5 seconds.
In the 1400m gallops, Flavianus appeared in fine trim, finishing with a 600m time of 45.5 seconds after a 1-44 effort. Evermore also moved freely, recording 1-46 for the full distance. Meanwhile, on the inner sand track, Gachchhatu and Shadai both strode out well over 600m, clocking 39 and 39.5 seconds respectively. Other notable efforts included Lasya, who stretched well in the final stages of a 600m gallop, and War Queen, who shaped well over the same distance.
