Starzella and Valiant Stream headlined a productive morning of track work on Monday, September 7, as several horses were put through their paces on the outer sand track. Both runners, partnered by P. Trevor, produced eye-catching displays that suggest they are hitting their stride during the current training block.
Starzella covered the 1400m distance in 1:39, clocking 1:24 for the 1200m, 1:10.5 for the 1000m, and finishing the final 600m in 42 seconds. Valiant Stream also looked sharp over the same distance, recording a time of 1:40, with a 1200m split of 1:24, a 1000m mark of 1:9.5, and a final 600m sectional of 42 seconds.
Strong displays across the morning session
The session saw a variety of horses testing their fitness, with Osaka and Flavianus among those catching the eye. Osaka delivered a particularly notable performance over 1000m, clocking 1:11.5 and finishing the final 600m in 40.5 seconds. Meanwhile, Flavianus pleased onlookers with a sharp 600m effort, stopping the clock at 41 seconds.
Other notable performers included Act Of Kindness, who moved impressively over 1200m in 1:26.5, with a 1000m split of 1:11.5 and a 600m finish of 43 seconds. Miracle Star also drew praise for an impressive 1400m gallop, completing the distance in 1:41, with a 1200m time of 1:26, a 1000m split of 1:11.5, and a 600m final section of 43 seconds.
Additional training notes
Several other runners completed solid work throughout the morning. In the 1200m gallops, Obolensky moved freely to finish in 1:28, while Pearl Star and Sassy Sarah both worked well, clocking 1:29 and 1:28.5 respectively. Black Rainstorm also put in an extended effort, finishing the 1200m in 1:28.5.
Over the 1000m distance, Bellavita stretched out well to record 1:09.5, with a 600m sectional of 42.5. Don Carlos and Magnus worked together to finish level, both recording 1:16 for the 1000m trip. Regal Aristocracy also showed good form, covering the 1000m in 1:12. In the shorter 600m sprints, Tolkien clocked 41 seconds, Lasya recorded 43 seconds, and Star Comet finished in 41.5 seconds.
