Shambala and Pure Soul emerged as the primary highlights during Monday morning's training session, displaying impressive form as they were put through their paces on the inner sand track. The duo caught the eye of observers with sharp, controlled efforts that suggest they are hitting their stride during the current training block.

The morning exercise, conducted on October 5, featured a wide range of participants working over varying distances. While many horses focused on steady, rhythmic movement, the standout gallops from Shambala and Pure Soul provided a clear indication of their current fitness levels as they prepare for future engagements.

Standout performances on the inner sand

Shambala, partnered with T.S. Jodha, produced one of the most notable efforts of the morning. The horse covered 800m in 48 seconds, clocking a brisk 36 seconds for the final 600m, a display that was described as an excellent piece of work. Similarly, Pure Soul, ridden by Chetan K, looked in fine condition during a 1000m gallop. The horse clocked 1:04 for the full distance, maintaining a steady pace of 50 seconds for the 800m mark and finishing the final 600m in 38 seconds.

Several other horses also caught the eye during the session. Paloma and Gunfire both moved well, each clocking 51 seconds over 800m with final 600m splits of 38 and 37 seconds respectively. In the 1000m bracket, the pair of Frenzy and Touch Of Mystic showed good form, with Frenzy appearing superior while recording a 600m split of 36 seconds. Silver Strike also impressed, finishing three lengths ahead of Bravo Zulu after a 1000m effort that stopped the clock at 1:04.

Gate practice and additional training updates

The morning session also included essential gate practice on the inner sand track, allowing trainers to sharpen the race-day readiness of their charges. Ma Cherie, ridden by Siddharth, demonstrated a clean departure, jumping out well and completing the 1000m exercise in 1:07, with a final 600m split of 39 seconds.

Other notable gate practice efforts included Sky Full Of Stars, who moved well to record a time of 1:07 for the 1000m distance. Meanwhile, the duo of Dancing Cloud and State Express completed their work in 1:09, with Dancing Cloud finishing three lengths clear of its companion. Earlier in the morning, several horses including Precioso, Zephyr, and Sandokan completed lighter work, focusing on maintaining their rhythm and conditioning as the training schedule continues.
