The race saw Red Bishop adopt a patient approach for much of the distance. Jockey Neeraj Rawal kept the horse positioned at the rear of the field until the 1,000-meter mark. As the runners approached the final bend, Red Bishop began to make steady progress, moving into fourth place.
Upon entering the home straight, the gelding found a tremendous burst of speed. While Fynbos appeared to be in control, Red Bishop’s late acceleration proved decisive, allowing him to close the gap and cross the wire first in a time of 2m 56.46s. Arrived finished third, with Caccini rounding out the top four.

The Indian St. Leger was the highlight of a productive day for the Pesi Shroff stable. Beyond the headline victory, Shroff also saddled winners in the S.S. Shah Salver and the Shamu Chavan Salver. In the S.S. Shah Salver, Rosario claimed victory under S. Siddharth, while Bishop secured the Shamu Chavan Salver with Vivek G in the saddle.
