A trio of horses—Alexios, Dash and Vortex—delivered standout performances during the morning training sessions at the Pune racecourse on Sunday, September 20. Their agility and pace during the exercises drew attention as trainers put their charges through their paces on the inner sand track.
Among the notable efforts, Alexios, ridden by Gore, clocked a sharp 1:21 for the 1200m distance. The horse maintained a consistent rhythm, covering the final 1000m in 1:06, the 800m in 51 seconds, and finishing the final 600m in 38 seconds, showing a fluid and controlled movement that caught the eye of observers.
Impressive gallops from Dash and Vortex
The pair of Dash, partnered with Aditya, and Vortex, with Yash in the saddle, also produced an impressive display over 1400m. The duo completed the distance in 1:35, maintaining a strong pace throughout the gallop. Their split times were equally notable, recording 1:20 for 1200m, 1:05 for 1000m, 52 seconds for 800m, and 39 seconds for the final 600m, demonstrating excellent coordination and fitness.
Elsewhere on the inner sand track, other horses also completed their scheduled work. Shaandaar and Manuel moved in tandem over 1200m, finishing neck and neck in 1:23. Their work included a 1000m split of 1:08 and a 600m closing time of 40 seconds. Similarly, Namiri and Mahogany worked level over 1400m, clocking 1:38, with a 600m final stretch of 39 seconds.
Other notable exercises included Pyrite, who covered 1000m in 1:08, and Shadow Phoenix, who moved well over 800m in 53 seconds, finishing the final 600m in 38 seconds. Bravion also showed ease in its movement, clocking 52 seconds for 800m, while Immortal Star finished a distance ahead of Abhyankar after their 800m gallop in 53 seconds. Thundering Phoenix, Golden Hues, Absolute Honour, and Sukoon also completed their respective morning routines as preparations continue at the Pune facility.
