Undercover, partnered by C. Umesh, delivered the most notable effort of the morning over the 1200m distance. The horse clocked a time of 1:17, covering the 1000m mark in 1:03, the 800m in 50 seconds, and the final 600m in 37 seconds. The performance was marked by a sharp response to the rider's urgings, suggesting the horse is in peak condition.
Strong gallops highlight Pune morning session
In the shorter work, Trail Blazer, with N. Bhosale in the saddle, caught the eye with an attractive move over 800m. The horse stopped the clock at 49 seconds, completing the final 600m in 36 seconds. The effort was described as highly fluent, highlighting the horse's current form.
Several other contenders also utilized the inner sand track to sharpen their preparations. Chakar View, ridden by Prasad, moved well over 800m in 50 seconds, with a final 600m split of 37 seconds. Cellini, under T.S. Jodha, clocked 51 seconds for the 800m distance, finishing the last 600m in 37 seconds, while La Dolce Vita and Sandokan also recorded steady work, both clocking 54 seconds for the 800m and 40 seconds for the final 600m.
The session also included work from Chilton Lodge and Giacomo. Chilton Lodge, guided by Mosin, covered 1200m in 1:20, with 1000m in 1:06, 800m in 52 seconds, and 600m in 39 seconds, requiring some urging in the final stages. Giacomo, also ridden by Mosin, completed the 1200m distance in 1:21, clocking 1:07 for the 1000m, 53 seconds for the 800m, and 40 seconds for the final 600m, finishing the work in a professional manner.
