Efficacy, Seize The Grey, Preview, and Maana produced eye-catching performances during Friday morning's training session, showcasing strong form ahead of upcoming racing fixtures as they completed their respective gallops on the sand tracks.

A selection of thoroughbreds caught the eye during Friday morning's training session on September 18, with Efficacy and Seize The Grey leading the way during their respective gallops. Trainers and observers monitored the progress of several runners as they navigated the inner and outer sand tracks in preparation for future engagements.

The morning session provided a clear indication of fitness levels across the stable, with Efficacy producing a particularly fluent display over 1400m, clocking 1-39, with a 1000m split of 1-10.5 and a final 600m in 42. Similarly, Seize The Grey demonstrated readiness by responding well to urgings over the same distance, finishing in 1-37 with a 1000m time of 1-11.

Strong performances across the sand tracks

The outer sand track saw a flurry of activity throughout the morning. Preview was noted for being in fine trim, covering 1000m in 1-12.5 with a final 600m dash of 41.5. In the 1200m gallops, Waitara also left a positive impression, recording 1-29 for the full distance and 1-14 for the 1000m mark.

Other notable efforts included the pairing of Mandalay and Whistling Glory, who moved impressively over 1000m in 1-11, with both horses clocking 42 for their final 600m. Theos also appeared in good condition during a 1400m exercise, completing the distance in 1-41 and showing consistent speed through the 1000m and 1200m markers.

Additional training updates

Several other horses completed routine work to maintain their conditioning. On the inner sand, Siege Storm covered 600m in 38, while Xanthe completed the same distance in 40. The outer sand saw Wanganui, Zeitgeist, Spirited Light, Shining Path, and Bright Thunder all complete 600m gallops, with times ranging between 42 and 44 seconds.

Further work included Royal Tribute and Aidenn, who both clocked 1-15 over 1000m, while the duo of Star Comet and Mystic Dew moved comfortably on the bit over 1200m in 1-31. Speed Company rounded out the session with a 1400m gallop, easing up towards the end of the exercise.
