Reports indicate that discussions surrounding Parthiv’s potential appointment have been circulating within Indian cricket circles for approximately six months. While an extension for Agarkar has not been officially ruled out, there is a growing consensus among key figures that the former wicketkeeper is the preferred successor for the high-profile position.

The speculation regarding Agarkar’s future intensified following his absence from a recent high-profile review meeting.
