On the morning of August 17, a series of horse exercises at the local training facility showcased several promising contenders, notably Sovereign King and Noraiah, who both drew attention with their impressive performances.

Morning Workouts Highlight Potential

During the 600-meter inner sand workouts, Starseed, ridden by T.S. Jodha, clocked a swift time of 41 seconds, finishing ahead of the pack. Precioso and Mila, both under the guidance of Omkar and T.S. Jodha respectively, completed the distance in 57 seconds, with Precioso finishing two lengths in front. Other notable performances included Ashwa Ankara, who moved freely with a time of 41 seconds, and Shirsa, who completed the distance in 37 seconds, demonstrating good form. Thundering Phoenix and Silver Strike also showed promise, finishing in 38 seconds, while Chakar View rounded out the group with a time of 39 seconds.

In the 1000-meter segment, Shimmer, ridden by Akram, recorded a time of 1:08, with a 600-meter split of 39 seconds, indicating a strong effort. Lumineer and Sky Bound, both ridden by S.J. Sunil, finished level at 1:07, with times of 51 seconds for 800 meters and 38 seconds for 600 meters. Gunfire and Irish Gold also performed well, both completing the 800 meters in 51 seconds and the 600 meters in 38 and 39 seconds respectively. Gunsmoke, under S.J. Sunil, finished with a time of 1:08, showcasing a solid workout.

Mock Races Provide Insight into Competitors

On August 16, mock races were conducted over 1800 meters, where Fynbos, ridden by Vivek G, made a remarkable comeback. After trailing four lengths behind, Fynbos surged ahead in the final 100 meters to narrowly defeat Duke Of Tuscany, finishing with a time of 1:52 and a 600-meter split of 35 seconds. In a second mock race over 1200 meters, Chagall, along with several other competitors, demonstrated strong finishing capabilities, winning decisively by a distance of three lengths and a short head, with a time of 1:08 and a 600-meter split of 34 seconds.
