Ellyse Perry, the renowned Australian cricketer, is eagerly anticipating the upcoming ICC Women’s Champions Trophy, which is set to debut in February 2024. This tournament marks a significant milestone in the women’s cricket calendar, featuring six teams competing in a T20I round-robin format.

Perry expressed her enthusiasm for the tournament, emphasizing its potential to challenge teams both physically and mentally. She noted that each match will hold significant weight, making every game crucial for the participating teams. "This is another fantastic opportunity for women's cricket and for all the teams involved. Being part of a new event is always thrilling, and having a fresh spot on the calendar is beneficial for everyone. You want to perform well in every match. This tournament will be a substantial test, and everyone will need to be at their best in preparation. The goal remains the same: to win every game," Perry stated, as reported by PTI.

In her remarks, Perry also acknowledged the talents of Indian cricket stars Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur. She praised Mandhana for her exceptional skills and mental fortitude, while describing Harmanpreet as a formidable competitor. "Smriti's success stems from her remarkable skill set. She possesses incredible willpower and a strong mindset, which is evident in her approach to the game and her preparation. She thrives on challenges. As for Harman, her greatest asset is her tenacity. She is a fierce competitor, and when she is in form, she delivers some of the most powerful shots in women's cricket," Perry added.

Having made her international debut in 2007, Perry reflected on her extensive career and the evolution she has experienced over the years. Recently, she scored 223 runs in seven innings for Birmingham Phoenix during The Hundred tournament. "As you grow as a person, you naturally evolve. Throughout my years in the sport, I have encountered various experiences, learned valuable lessons, and collaborated with many individuals. Each of these experiences contributes to my growth, often through small changes that accumulate over time. The key is to keep improving and building on what you have learned," she remarked.
