Money Bags Claims H.H. Sri Krishnaraja Wadiyar Memorial Trophy

Money Bags justified the confidence placed in him by punters to claim the feature event, the H.H. Sri Krishnaraja Wadiyar Memorial Trophy, at the races held on Friday, September 4. Guided by jockey Trevor, the Prasanna Kumar-trained runner proved too strong for the competition over the 1,400-metre distance, crossing the line ahead of Shamrock and Crown Drive.

The victory for Money Bags, who is owned by the syndicate of Capt. Jamshed J. Appoo, Mr. K. Manoj Kumar, Mr. K. Kaliyaperumal, and Mr. J. Ramesh, was the highlight of a busy day of racing. The winner completed the distance in 1:21.56, finishing 1-3/4 lengths clear of the runner-up, with King’s Battalion rounding out the top four.

Trainer K. Aditya Dominates Under-Card

While the feature race belonged to the Prasanna Kumar stable, trainer K. Aditya enjoyed a highly successful afternoon, securing three victories across the supporting card. Aditya’s winning streak began in the opening race, the Virija Plate, where Misty Warrior claimed victory. He followed this with a win in the Varada Plate courtesy of Furious Fun, and completed his hat-trick in the Somanathpur Plate with Truth In Wine.

Elsewhere on the card, jockey Trevor secured a double for the day by partnering Ice Of Fire to victory in the Paddock Plate for trainer Pradeep Annaiah. The J.H. Foley Memorial Trophy was taken out by Brave Heart, ridden by Sai Kiran and trained by Neil Devaney, while the final event of the day, the Pune Plate, went to Royal Legacy, trained by James Mckeown and ridden by Akshay K.
