Similarly, Kavya caught the eye during an 800m sprint, clocking 49 seconds with a final 600m split of 36 seconds, indicating the horse is in excellent condition.
Strong performances across the morning sessions
El Moran also drew attention with a sharp 800m workout, recording a time of 50 seconds and completing the final 600m in 37 seconds. The horse responded well to the work, showing positive signs of progress. Other notable 800m efforts included Miami Vice, who finished five lengths clear of South Beach with a time of 51 seconds, and Irish Twist, who clocked 1:05 over 1000m, finishing five lengths ahead of Umeed.
Several other pairs and individual runners moved with ease throughout the morning. In the 1400m work, Legadema and Hermanus maintained a steady pace, moving neck and neck to finish in 1:37. Meanwhile, Zuccaro and Red Bishop completed a 1600m gallop in 1:53, moving level throughout the exercise. The longest work of the morning saw Duke Of Tuscany and Fynbos cover 2000m in 2:24, both horses appearing to move freely throughout the duration of the gallop.
Additional notable work included Yinsiruk, who moved well over 600m in 37 seconds, and the pair of Rivayat and Ageisjustanumber, who clocked 1:07 for their 1000m gallop.
