Fynbos, Rosario and Regina Memorabilis produced eye-catching displays during Thursday morning's training session as horses were put through their paces on the inner sand track. The trio stood out among the field, demonstrating strong form and preparation in their respective gallops.
Fynbos, under the guidance of Vivek, delivered the most notable performance of the morning. Covering a distance of 2000m, the horse clocked 2-17, with the final 1800m in 2-3, 1600m in 1-49, 1400m in 1-35, 1200m in 1-20, 1000m in 1-6, 800m in 52, and the final 600m in 39 seconds. The effort was described as impressive, highlighting a solid preparation.
Strong performances across the track
Regina Memorabilis also caught the eye during a 1400m exercise. Partnered with Yash, the horse clocked 1-35, covering the 1200m in 1-20, 1000m in 1-6, 800m in 52, and the final 600m in 39 seconds, moving attractively throughout the gallop. In a similar distance, Pride’s Prince, also ridden by Yash, clocked 1-35, 1200m in 1-20, 1000m in 1-5, 800m in 52, and 600m in 39 seconds, though the horse required urging in the final stages.
In the shorter work, Rosario, ridden by Yash, moved nicely over 800m, clocking 50 seconds and finishing the final 600m in 37 seconds. Meanwhile, Loyal Lover, with Avinash in the saddle, responded well during a 1000m gallop, recording a time of 1-5, with the final 800m in 50 seconds and 600m in 38 seconds. Other notable efforts included Lord And Master, who worked well over 1200m in 1-22, and the pair of Taaqath and Kaiser, who moved level over 1000m in 1-9.
Additional training updates
The session saw several other horses complete their routines on the inner sand. Kings Gambit and Matisse paired up for an 1800m gallop, finishing level in 2-10, with Kings Gambit making up a four-length deficit during the run. In the 1000m category, Caccini clocked 1-9, while Bright Button and the duo of Acrobatic and Royal Champ also recorded 1-9, with Acrobatic finishing two lengths ahead of its stablemate.
Further down the order, Ange Raphael, Sir Churchill, and Shimmer worked over 1000m in 1-10, with Ange Raphael finishing two lengths clear of Sir Churchill, who in turn finished two lengths ahead of Shimmer. Hagibis finished well clear of Raphael in their 1000m gallop, clocking 1-6. Bohemian Rhapsody showed urgency over 600m in 37 seconds, while Axlrod, Bishop, Sol Invictus, Romanos, and Luminosity all moved freely during their respective light exercises.
