Pakistan Women booked their place in the next stage of the Asian Games Women's Cricket Competition after a hard-fought three-wicket victory against Thailand at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin. After winning the toss and electing to field, Pakistan managed to keep Thailand to a total of 91/4 in their 11 overs. Nannapat Koncharoenkai led the Thai effort with a resilient 49 off 38 balls, while Phannita Maya provided support with 15 runs from 16 deliveries. Fatima Sana was the standout performer with the ball for Pakistan, claiming 2/22 from her three overs to ensure the target remained well within reach.

Zulfiqar Sparks Chase Before Late Drama

Chasing 92 for a spot in the semi-finals, Pakistan began their pursuit with intent. Shawaal Zulfiqar provided the necessary momentum at the top of the order, racing to 25 off just 14 balls. However, the game shifted when Zulfiqar fell at 36 in 3.5 overs, triggering a period of instability in the middle order. The Thai bowling attack, led by Onnicha Kamchomphu, applied significant pressure as wickets continued to tumble, turning the chase into a tense affair.

Despite the late-innings collapse, Pakistan held their nerve to reach the target with three wickets and time to spare. Fatima Sana, who had earlier impressed with the ball, proved instrumental in the final stages of the chase to guide her side home. The victory confirms Pakistan's progression in the tournament, while Thailand bows out after a competitive defensive display that pushed the chase to the wire.
