A quartet of horses headlined a productive morning of track work in Bengaluru on Friday, August 28, as trainers put their charges through their paces. Astrid, Flaming Sword, Preview, and Rosaline were among those to catch the eye during the exercises, displaying sharp form across both the inner and outer sand tracks.
The training session provided a clear indication of the current condition of the local stable, with several horses showing significant progress. Among the standout performers, Astrid and Flaming Sword produced particularly notable efforts during their 1400m gallops, signaling they are in peak physical condition as they prepare for future engagements.
Standout performances on the track
In the 1400m work, Astrid, partnered with Jersey King, clocked 1:41, covering the final 1200m in 1:24 and the 1000m in 1:09.5, with a final 600m split of 41.5 seconds. Astrid was noted as the superior performer in the pair. Similarly, Flaming Sword, working alongside Defence Counsel, matched the 1:41 time for the full distance, with a 1200m split of 1:23.5 and a 1000m time of 1:09.5, finishing the final 600m in 42 seconds.
Other horses also made a strong impression during the morning. Rosaline moved with notable fluidity over 1200m, clocking 1:25, with a 1000m split of 1:10.5 and a 600m finish of 43 seconds. Meanwhile, Preview demonstrated fluent movement over 1000m, stopping the clock at 1:14.5, with a final 600m section of 41 seconds.
Additional training highlights
The inner sand track saw several horses complete shorter, sharp work. Splendid Dream impressed over 1000m with a time of 1:06, including a 600m split of 39 seconds, while Money Bags also appeared in fine trim, covering the same distance in 1:06 after a 1200m gallop. Circle Of Dreams looked pleased with a 600m effort in 38.5 seconds.
On the outer sand, Blue Picasso and Mysticalair both caught the eye, with the former clocking 1:15 for 1000m and the latter completing 600m in 42.5 seconds. Other notable work included Baashha, who worked well over 1000m in 1:13, and Never Give In, who shaped well over 1200m in 1:28. The morning session concluded with various pairings, including Panache and Nimbus Speed, as well as Quintus Arrius and Bhagya, rounding off a busy day of preparation at the Bengaluru facility.
