Eric Bieniemy, the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs, made his return to the team on Monday after a two-week hiatus due to a family crisis. Bieniemy had been away from the team to support his wife, Mia, who was hospitalized following a shooting incident involving their son at their home in Virginia.

Mia Bieniemy, aged 57, was admitted to the hospital on July 26 after sustaining serious injuries from multiple gunshot wounds. Fortunately, her condition has stabilized since the incident, and she was moved out of the intensive care unit shortly thereafter, as confirmed by Chiefs' head coach Andy Reid. Reid expressed optimism about her recovery, stating, "Mia continues to improve, which is important. We're heading in the right direction."

While Eric Bieniemy was away, Joe Bleymaier, the team's pass game coordinator, stepped in to manage the offensive strategies during practice. Reid noted that Bieniemy was eager to return to his role, indicating that both he and Mia were looking forward to reuniting. "When [Eric Bieniemy] gets back, he gets back here. But I know he's chomping at the bit -- and Mia is probably wanting to get him out of there, too," Reid added, highlighting the family's resilience during this challenging time.
