Indian National Racing Challenge for Four-Wheelers Announced by MRF

In an exhilarating start to the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 4W, held at the Madras International Circuit (MIC) on Sunday, two young drivers showcased their exceptional talent. Eighteen-year-old Saishiva Sankaran from Pune achieved a remarkable hat-trick of victories in the MRF Formula 2000 category, while 16-year-old Bhuvan Bonu from Visakhapatnam dominated the MRF Formula 1600 races, winning both events.

The competition was fierce, with Sri Lanka's Kaveen Diyyan Rajapaksa also making headlines by winning all three races in the Junior category of Formula LGB 1300. Additionally, Viswas Vijayaraj secured a triple crown in the Formula LGB 1300 Open category, further highlighting the day's thrilling performances. Other notable winners included Ritesh Rai, T.S. Diljith, and Pratik Sonawane, who remained unbeaten in their respective classes.

Race Highlights and Results

The results from the event were as follows: In the MRF Formula 2000, Saishiva Sankaran clinched victory in Race 2 with a time of 20:11.403 seconds, followed closely by Aditya Patnaik from Navi Mumbai and Krishay Gutte from Mumbai. In Race 3, Saishiva continued his winning streak, finishing in 16:22.565, with Aditya and Swarnav Das trailing behind.

In the MRF Formula 1600, Bhuvan Bonu took the lead in Race 2, clocking in at 21:19.141, while Evan Shrawan from Mumbai finished second. Bhuvan's success continued in Race 3, where he completed the race in 18:10.216, with Gyan Satish and Shivansh Bejoy following him.

Other Categories Shine

The Indian Super Touring Cars category saw Ritesh Rai from Buzzing Hornet Motorsports take the top spot in both races, demonstrating his prowess on the track. T.S. Diljith from DTS Racing also excelled in the Super Stock category, winning both of his races convincingly.

In the Volkswagen Polo Cup, Pratik Sonawane emerged victorious in both races, showcasing his skill and consistency. The Formula LGB 1300 races featured impressive performances, with Viswas Vijayaraj winning in the Open category and Kaveen Diyyan Rajapaksa dominating the Junior category.

This opening round of the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge set a thrilling tone for the season, with young talents making their mark and seasoned drivers reaffirming their dominance on the track.
