Chiranth Vishwanath Claims Premier Class Victory at MRF Indian National Racing Challenge

Chiranth Vishwanath delivered a standout performance at the Madras International Circuit on Saturday, clinching victory in the premier Super Sport 301-400cc Open class during the third round of the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 2W 2026. The Bengaluru rider managed to outpace his Petronas TVS Racing teammate and pole-sitter Sarthak Chavan in a tightly contested race, crossing the finish line in 10 minutes and 55.474 seconds to secure the top spot.

The victory underscored a competitive day of racing, with Chavan finishing a narrow margin behind in 10:55.989, while their teammate Rakshith Dave rounded out the podium with a time of 10:57.703. The event saw several riders navigate challenging conditions, particularly in the Pro-Stock 200cc Open category, which was shortened to three laps following two separate red-flag incidents on the track.

Anandhu Secures Double Victory as Competition Heats Up

While Vishwanath commanded the premier class, K.K. Anandhu emerged as the day's other major protagonist, securing a notable double for Veedol C2 Racing. Anandhu’s first win came in the Stock 301-400cc race, where he demonstrated impressive recovery after starting from seventh position on the grid to finish in 12:15.654. He later added a second victory in the Super Stock 165cc Intermediate category, clocking 12:48.674.

Anandhu’s success in the 165cc class was aided by the early exit of pole-sitter Ann Jennifer, who retired during the opening lap. The retirement marked a significant shift in the category, as it brought an end to Jennifer’s unbeaten streak that had spanned the previous two rounds of the championship.

In the Pro-Stock 200cc Open race, 19-year-old Savion Sabu of MadRabbit Racing claimed his second victory of the season, navigating the shortened three-lap sprint in 06:08.259. Senthil Kumar of Team Rockers Racing followed closely in second, with K. Amarnath Menon taking third. Elsewhere, Senthil Kumar found success in the Super Stock 301-400cc Open, leading a strong showing for his team by finishing ahead of teammate S. Mathana Kumar. Other notable winners included Surya Reddy in the Stock 165cc Novice class, R. Hari Haran in the Petronas TVS Expert category, Jangam Akarsh in the Rookie class, and Poojitha Anil Kumar, who dominated the Women’s Apache RTR 200 race.
