Dhruv Goswami and Balaprasath Split Honours in Rain-Hit LGB4 Opener

The opening round of the CTR-JK Tyre FMSCI Indian National Car Racing Championship at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam proved to be a stern test of skill and composure. As persistent rain and frequent safety car deployments disrupted the schedule, Meco Racing’s Dhruv Goswami and Dark Don Racing’s Balaprasath emerged as the standout performers, splitting the race wins in the premier Formula LGB4 category.

Navigating the treacherous, rain-slicked circuit required immense focus, with both drivers managing the volatile conditions to secure their respective victories. The weekend served as a challenging start to the season, where the ability to maintain pace amidst interruptions proved to be the deciding factor for the podium finishers.

Dominant Displays Across Touring and Cup Categories

Beyond the Formula LGB4 action, several other competitors showcased their dominance across the various racing classes. In the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, Anish Shetty demonstrated impressive recovery skills in the professional category. Starting from the fifth position, Shetty navigated through the field to claim victory ahead of Navaneeth Kumar. Meanwhile, the amateur class saw Kabir Sahoch complete a weekend hat-trick, navigating through a collision involving Shyamal Das and Akash Boro to win by a margin of 1.793 seconds, clocking a fastest lap of 1:19.452.

The JK Tyre Levitas Cup featured a clinical performance from Pratik Sonawane, who secured a pole-to-flag victory in the Gentleman class, finishing 5.053 seconds clear of Sidharth Balasundaram. In the rookie class, Aadam Junaid maintained his momentum by securing his second win in as many starts.

The Indian Super Touring Cars finale provided perhaps the most dramatic finish of the weekend. Team N1 Intervalve’s Biren Pithawalla executed a late-race surge to snatch victory from Arjun Narendran at the final corner, crossing the line 2.480 seconds ahead. Other notable results included Aman Nagdev’s win in the Indian Touring Cars category and Deepak Ravikumar’s narrow victory in the Indian Junior Touring Cars, where he edged out Srinivas Teja by a mere 0.115 seconds.
