Government Support and Future Plans
To facilitate the FMSCI's recognition, the government has eased certain requirements concerning the minimum number of state unit affiliations typically necessary for NSF status. However, the ministry has made it clear that this provisional recognition could be revoked if the FMSCI fails to adhere to guidelines concerning financial integrity, anti-doping protocols, governance structures, or if it misrepresents any information.
In a related development, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced the formation of a Task Force aimed at evaluating the feasibility and advantages of hosting major motorsport events in India. This Task Force will assess the economic, tourism, and investment opportunities that could arise from such events, while also identifying essential infrastructure and operational needs for the sustainable growth of motorsport in the country.

Minister Mandaviya has expressed a goal of bringing a Formula 1 race back to India by 2028, following the country's previous hosting of the event from 2011 to 2013, which ended due to financial and taxation issues.
F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has recognized the substantial interest in the sport within India, although he has not provided a specific timeline for its return, emphasizing the need for appropriate investment and personnel to make the plan viable. Recent statistics indicate that the fanbase for Formula 1 in India has surged from 79 million to 98 million in less than six months, highlighting the growing enthusiasm for motorsport in the region.
