Jobe Bellingham Earns Maiden England Call-Up as Cole Palmer Misses Out

England has announced its squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League encounters against Croatia and Spain, headlined by the first senior international call-up for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham. The youngster, who has progressed through every age group from Under-16s to Under-21s, joins his brother Jude in the national setup. The official England social media channels confirmed the news, congratulating the midfielder on his transition from the Young Lions to the senior squad.

Alongside the inclusion of Bellingham, Fulham midfielder Josh King has also been rewarded with his maiden senior call-up. These selections come as the Three Lions prepare for a high-stakes double-header, beginning with a home fixture at Wembley Stadium against Croatia on November 12, followed by a trip to Madrid to face Spain on November 15.

Palmer and Foden Omitted from Latest Selection

While new talent enters the fold, Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has once again been left out of the national team plans. Palmer, who has featured in every Premier League match for Chelsea this season and contributed five goals, was previously recalled to the squad last month but withdrew due to ongoing physical discomfort. His absence follows recent comments from Thomas Tuchel, who emphasized the importance of player availability during international camps.

The squad announcement also confirms that Manchester City forward Phil Foden remains out of contention, continuing his absence from the international picture following his omission from the World Cup squad earlier this year. The current England roster features a blend of established stars and emerging talent, with Jordan Pickford, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Declan Rice, and Harry Kane among those included for the November fixtures. The full squad list includes goalkeepers Jason Steele and James Trafford, defenders Jarrad Branthwaite, Marc Guehi, Lewis Hall, Ezri Konsa, Jarell Quansah, Djed Spence, and Ben White, alongside midfielders Elliot Anderson, James Garner, and Myles Lewis-Skelly. The attacking options are rounded out by Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Eberechi Eze, Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Gordon, Rio Ngumoha, and Morgan Rogers.
