India A and Pakistan A to Face Off in 2026 Rising Asia Cup Group Stage

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially unveiled the schedule for the 2026 Rising Asia Cup, confirming that arch-rivals India A and Pakistan A will meet in the group stage. The highly anticipated encounter is slated for November 22 at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha.

Both teams have been drawn into Group B, alongside Nepal and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The tournament, which features eight teams split into two groups, will follow a single round-robin format, with the top two sides from each group progressing to the semi-finals. The knockout stages are scheduled for November 26 and 27, culminating in the final on November 29.

Tournament Schedule and Format

India A will kick off their tournament campaign against Nepal on November 20. Following their high-profile match against Pakistan A two days later, they will conclude their group-stage commitments against the UAE on November 24. The West End Park International Cricket Stadium is set to serve as the primary venue, hosting the majority of the fixtures including the tournament final. The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) Cricket Ground will also host matches, beginning with the tournament opener on November 19.

Group A consists of Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A, and Hong Kong, China. The structure ensures that each side plays three group matches, providing a rigorous test for the emerging talent typically featured in these 'A' team squads. In the previous 2025 edition, the tournament saw intense competition, with Pakistan A ultimately emerging as champions after a dramatic Super Over victory against Bangladesh A in the final.

Reflecting on the 2025 Campaign

The upcoming tournament follows a 2025 edition that saw India A experience a mixed run of form. After an emphatic 148-run victory over the UAE in their opening match, where they posted 297/4, the side faced a setback with an eight-wicket loss to Pakistan A. India A managed to secure a semi-final berth with a six-wicket win against Oman, but their journey ended in a closely contested semi-final against Bangladesh A. That match finished in a tie, with Bangladesh A prevailing in the subsequent Super Over to eliminate India A from the competition.
