The Australian team trails by 67 runs, needing to surpass Bangladesh's first-innings score of 426. With only six wickets remaining, the visitors are poised to secure a historic win on Australian soil.

Cameron Green remains at the crease with an unbeaten 43 runs, while Alex Carey is not out on 19 as Australia fights to survive the final session of play. However, the hosts face the challenging task of not only erasing the deficit but also setting a target for Bangladesh in the fourth innings.

Fast bowler Hasan Mahmud has emerged as a formidable challenge for Australia, claiming two wickets in the second innings after an impressive first innings where he took 6 for 55. Mahmud dismissed both Australian openers cheaply, with Jake Weatherald falling for a duck and Travis Head managing only 17 runs, both batters succumbing to cut shots that resulted in them chopping the ball onto their stumps.
