"I think everything needs to unfold gradually; there is deep pain involved, and this isn't something that changes overnight," he stated. Hoyos emphasized that silence and tranquility are essential for Messi as he navigates his emotions and prepares for the upcoming season.
"We need to stand by him, sharing in that silence. To me, silence is important, and that helps one eventually find a way forward," Hoyos added, reflecting on Messi's character and the support he has from his family. "He is truly a wonderful person, and he has a wonderful family," he noted.
Messi's Return to the Field
Messi returned to Rosario last weekend to attend a private memorial service for his father. Shortly after, he made his way back to Miami, rejoining Inter Miami for their Leagues Cup match against Club Leon on Wednesday at Nu Stadium. Although he began the game on the bench, Messi was substituted in at halftime, contributing to the team's efforts in the second half.
Hoyos praised Messi's dedication to the team, stating, "There are no words. I can't find a label for his worth as a person. We aren't talking about his value as a player, but his worth as a wonderful human being with a huge heart. Sometimes, words just aren't enough." Following a training session on Friday morning, Messi and the team are set to face Nashville SC on Saturday, with another match against Philadelphia Union scheduled for the following Wednesday.
