Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved a remarkable milestone during the first Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle, marking his 30th Test appearance. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as he has played each of his first 30 Tests at different venues, a unique record in the history of cricket. Jaiswal's journey began in Roseau, Dominica, in July 2023, and has taken him across various cricketing nations, including stops in the Caribbean, South Africa, India, England, and Australia, culminating in his latest match in Galle.

Since his debut, Jaiswal has made a significant impact in the Test arena. Over the course of 30 matches, he has accumulated a total of 2,567 runs from 55 innings, boasting an impressive average of 48.43. His performance includes seven centuries and 13 half-centuries, with his highest score being an unbeaten 214. This record places him alongside two legendary Indian cricketers: Sanjay Manjrekar, who played his first 33 Tests at 33 different venues, and Sachin Tendulkar, who appeared at 32 venues in his initial 32 Tests.

Despite his impressive statistics, Jaiswal's milestone Test ended on a disappointing note as he was run out for 32 runs. He had been looking solid during his 37-ball innings, contributing to a steady start for India. However, a mix-up with teammate KL Rahul led to his untimely dismissal. After a collision with the bowler, confusion ensued between the two batsmen, resulting in both players ending up at the non-striker's end. This left Jaiswal stranded and forced him to leave the field prematurely.

This run-out marks the third time Jaiswal has been dismissed in this manner during his Test career. His first run-out occurred against Australia in 2024 when he scored 82 runs, followed by another against the West Indies a year later, where he was run out for 175. Now, in his 30th Test, he has faced yet another unfortunate run-out, this time against Sri Lanka.
