Although Kushare successfully cleared the bar on his second attempt, the initial miss proved decisive in the final standings.
Strong Performances on the Track and Field
The women's long jump final saw a dramatic conclusion as Ancy Sojan narrowly missed out on the top spot. Sojan produced an impressive best jump of 6.53m on her fifth attempt, putting her in a strong position for gold. However, China’s Huang Yingying surged late in the competition, recording a 6.55m effort to snatch the victory. It was a difficult outing for Sojan’s teammate, Shaili Singh, who finished just outside the podium places. Singh’s best effort of 6.42m was surpassed by China’s Mengyi Tan, who secured the bronze with a jump of 6.46m.
On the track, Harita Bhadra delivered a podium finish in the women's 200m final, clocking 23.20 seconds to claim the bronze medal. She narrowly edged out Japan’s Ido Abigeirufuka, who finished in 23.21 seconds. The event was won by Singapore’s Shanti Pereira, who secured gold with a season-best time of 22.78 seconds, while China’s Chen Yujie took silver in 22.93 seconds. India’s Unnathi Aiyappa Bolland also competed in the final, crossing the line in 23.48 seconds to finish sixth.
