Ancy established an early lead with an opening jump of 6.49m. When China’s Huang Yingying matched her distance in the fifth round, Ancy responded immediately by improving her mark to 6.53m. However, Huang secured the gold with a final-round leap of 6.55m, while her teammate Tan Mengyi also produced a late 6.46m jump, which pushed India’s Shaili Singh out of the medals into fourth place with a best of 6.42m.

The track events provided further highlights for the Indian contingent, most notably from Harita Bhadra. Competing in her first continental championship, Bhadra secured a surprise bronze medal in the 200m final with a time of 23.20s. In the men’s 200m, Animesh Kujur finished fifth in 20.80s, a race won by Thailand’s Boonson Puripol, who set a new Asian record of 19.88s.
The morning session proved more difficult for the race walkers. Manju Rani finished at the back of the field in the women’s marathon race walk with a time of 3:40:17, while teammate Priyanka was disqualified after receiving four warnings within the opening nine kilometers of the race.
