Uchchaihshravas Tipped for Success in Bold Venture Plate

The five-year-old contender Uchchaihshravas is poised to make a significant impact in the Bold Venture Plate, which serves as the feature event during the race day scheduled for Saturday, October 17. Following a narrow second-place finish in his most recent outing, the horse is widely expected to improve upon that performance and challenge for the top spot in this Category I sprint over 1,200 metres.

The field for the Bold Venture Plate includes a competitive mix of runners, with One N Only, Espionage, Diablo, Reigning Beauty, and Lashka rounding out the entries. While the competition is stiff, the form shown by Uchchaihshravas in his previous start suggests he is well-positioned to secure victory in the day's main attraction.

Race Day Highlights and Selections

Beyond the feature race, the card includes a full programme of events, with the Rani Rudrama Devi Trophy standing out as a key contest. In this 1,600-metre race for horses rated 40 to 65, Pristine Glory has been highlighted as the 'Day’s Best' prospect. Carrying 60kg with jockey Akshay K in the saddle, the runner will face off against a field that includes Mountain Touch, Special Star, La Quinta, Federer, and Torobravo.

The day’s racing action begins with two divisions of the Peddapalli Plate. In the first division, Equine Power, Varada, and Sadiya are the primary selections. The second division features a field including Surrealist, Red Hot Punch, and Juramento, who are expected to be the main protagonists. The Hard Held Plate, covering 1,600 metres, sees Zorba, Kinship, and Nkalanzinzi as the horses to watch.

Supporting Events and Betting Pools

The Mir Mushtaq Ali Khan Memorial Trophy, a 1,400-metre race, offers another highlight, with Clefairy, Greif, and Love In Paris identified as the leading contenders. The final event of the day, the Venus De Milo Plate, will be contested without the use of whips, featuring a large field of 11 runners including Aloy, The Divinely, and Quality Warrior.

For those following the betting pools, the organisers have confirmed that the Jackpot will encompass races three through seven. Additionally, two Mini Jackpot pools have been established, covering races one through four and four through seven respectively. Treble pools are available for races two through four and five through seven, while the Tanala pool will be in operation for every race on the card.
