Mystica impresses in Pune morning training session

Mystica produced an eye-catching display during the morning training session at the Pune racecourse on Saturday, October 17. The horse demonstrated good form and responsiveness, catching the eye of observers as it completed its scheduled work on the inner sand track.

Under the guidance of jockey Gore, Mystica clocked a time of 1:21 for the 1200-metre gallop. The performance was particularly notable for how the horse responded to urgings, covering the final 1000 metres in 1:07, the 800-metre mark in 53 seconds, and the concluding 600 metres in 41 seconds.

Strong performances across the training track

The morning session featured a variety of horses undergoing routine exercise, with several pairs showing positive signs. In the 1000-metre gallop, Dash and Rogue moved in tandem, finishing neck-and-neck with a final 600-metre split of 39 seconds. Similarly, in the 1200-metre category, New Star and Cornucopia maintained a steady pace, completing their work together in 1:24.

Other notable efforts included Pyrite, who also clocked 1:24 for the 1200-metre distance, showing good form with a 39-second final 600-metre segment. Shivalik Superstar, Horizon, and El Moran all moved freely during their respective 800-metre gallops, while Sacred Flash and Silver Dynamite worked level over 600 metres in 39 seconds.

Gate practice and earlier sessions

In addition to the standard track work, gate practice was conducted on the inner sand. During this session, Opus Dei, ridden by C.S. Jodha, finished three lengths ahead of Aegean Sea, with the pair covering 1000 metres in 1:07. The training activity follows reports from October 16, where Admirable showed significant progress by finishing well clear of Ashwa Kanchenjunga during an 800-metre gallop, clocking 50 seconds for the distance with a 38-second final 600-metre split.
