Notable Performances in Short Distances
During the 600-meter exercises on the inner sand track, Bravo Zulu, ridden by Merchant, clocked a time of 40 seconds, demonstrating an easy pace. Other notable performances included Believe, who finished in 41 seconds under Bhawani's guidance, and Madison, who moved freely to complete the distance in 40 seconds. Mother’s Gift, under I. Shaikh, was urged to finish in 37 seconds, while Crown Flame and Holding The Fort crossed the line together at 40 seconds.
In the same session, Running Away, ridden by Peter, completed the distance in 42 seconds, while Kavya, under Parmar, impressed with a time of 53 seconds, including a 39-second split for the last 600 meters. Turn And Burn, also ridden by Parmar, showcased remarkable speed, finishing in 50 seconds with a swift 35-second split for the final 600 meters. Other horses like Sukoon and Blue Jet also performed well, clocking 54 seconds and 53 seconds, respectively.
Longer Distances Highlight Strong Contenders
As the workouts progressed to longer distances, several horses continued to impress. In the 1000-meter trials, Cashel King, ridden by Neeraj, completed the distance in 1:10, with a 42-second split for the last 600 meters. Organised Chaos, under Sandesh, finished in 1:08, leading by four lengths over Shimmer, who clocked 1:08 as well. Shambala, ridden by T.S. Jodha, finished in 1:12, while Endurance matched the pace of Shaandaar and Acropolis, both finishing in 1:10.
The 1200-meter workouts saw The Olive Crown, ridden by Ajinkya, finish in 1:23, while Vortex, under Ranjane, completed the distance in 1:22, finishing four lengths ahead of Giant Gold. Encino, also under Sandesh, finished in 1:25, showcasing a strong performance. In the final stretch, Thalassa and Zacharias both demonstrated their capabilities, with Zacharias clocking 1:38 for 1200 meters, indicating a promising future for these contenders.
