A group of thoroughbreds delivered promising performances during Monday morning's training session on October 19, with Sicyon and Moon Oracle among those catching the eye. Trainers and observers monitored the progress of several runners as they navigated the inner and outer sand tracks to sharpen their condition for future race days.

Sicyon, partnered by Shreyas, produced one of the most notable efforts of the morning over 1400m. The horse clocked 1-37, covering the final 1200m in 1-22 and the last 600m in 41 seconds, demonstrating a fluid and impressive stride that stood out during the session. Similarly, Moon Oracle, ridden by Girish, showed excellent form over 1200m, finishing in 1-23 with a final 600m split of 42.5 seconds.

Strong Performances Across the Sand Tracks

The outer sand track saw several horses put in solid work. Astraeus, under R. Pradeep, completed a 1400m gallop in 1-42.5, finishing four lengths ahead of stablemate Tolkien. In other notable work, Battle Crown, with Arul in the saddle, covered 1000m in 1-9.5, finishing two lengths clear of Shining Path after starting three lengths behind. Black Eagle also looked sharp over the same distance, clocking 1-12.5 with a final 600m time of 40.5 seconds.

On the inner sand track, African Gold provided a highlight over 1200m, moving impressively to clock 1-20.5, with a 1000m split of 1-5 and a final 600m in 38 seconds. Agrador also stretched out well over 1000m, recording a time of 1-6.5, while Rieko and Eagle Eye both displayed pleasing form, clocking 1-7.5 and 1-7 respectively over the same distance.

Additional Training Notes

Several other runners maintained steady progress during the morning. Over 1200m on the outer track, Aquastic moved well to clock 1-24, while Dasadyu finished four lengths ahead of Flavianus in a 1200m gallop that saw the former stop the clock at 1-25. Lorenzo also caught the eye over 1200m, moving attractively to finish in 1-26.

The session concluded with The Archer, who was eased up during a 1600m gallop, finishing in 1-52.5. With the track work providing a clear indication of current fitness levels, connections will look to build on these performances as the racing calendar progresses.
