Neutralist, Shamara and Azaadi were the standout performers during Monday morning’s training session on October 19. The trio displayed strong form as they were put through their paces, drawing attention with their movement and conditioning ahead of upcoming racing commitments.

The inner sand track saw a flurry of activity as trainers assessed their charges. Among the notable efforts, Azaadi, partnered with Priority Road, clocked an impressive 49 seconds for 800 metres, finishing four lengths clear of the stablemate with a 600-metre split of 36 seconds. Similarly, Neutralist looked in excellent condition, covering 1200 metres in 1:20, with a sharp final 600-metre burst in 36 seconds.

Strong gallops and consistent form

Shamara also caught the eye during a 1400-metre gallop alongside Luna. Clocking 1:35 for the full distance, Shamara strode out with purpose to finish a distance ahead of the companion. Other horses to move well included Rivayat, who covered 800 metres in 50 seconds, and the pair of Scorcher and Ricochet, with the former finishing six lengths clear after an 800-metre hit-out in 53 seconds.

Several other runners maintained a steady rhythm during their morning work. Sequential finished four lengths ahead of Storm Cloud over 1000 metres, while Funny Bunny held a two-length advantage over The Panther in their 1200-metre exercise. Delilah and Angelisa worked in tandem, moving freely over 1200 metres to finish neck and neck.

Mock race highlights

In addition to the morning track work, a mock race held on October 18 provided further insight into the current form of several competitors. Ashwa Parth delivered a dominant performance over 1200 metres, leading from pillar to post to secure a comfortable victory by six lengths.

Lickety Split and Golden Eye followed in second and third, respectively. While the race showcased the speed of the winner, it also highlighted some starting issues for others in the field, with Angelo and State Express losing significant ground at the jump, trailing by four and six lengths respectively at the start.
