Margaretta, Kimiko, and Queen’s Covenant delivered standout performances during Saturday morning’s training session, showcasing strong form ahead of upcoming racing fixtures as horses were put through their paces on the inner sand track.

A selection of notable contenders caught the eye during Saturday morning’s training session on October 3, with Margaretta, Lady Scarlet, Kimiko, and Queen’s Covenant producing particularly impressive displays. Trainers and observers monitored the horses closely as they navigated the inner sand track, with several runners demonstrating significant progress in their preparation.

Among the standout performers, Margaretta drew attention during a 1200m gallop, clocking 1:19, 1000/1-4, 800/49, and 600/37. Her movement was described as impressive, marking her as one to watch in the coming weeks. Similarly, in the gate practice sessions, Kimiko delivered a sharp performance over 1000m, finishing in 1:3 with an 800m split of 48 and a 600m final burst of 36.

Gate Practice and Trackwork Highlights

The morning session also featured notable work from Queen’s Covenant, who impressed during gate practice. Partnered with Family Man, Queen’s Covenant completed the 1000m distance in 1:4, finishing four lengths clear of her stablemate with an 800m time of 49 and a 600m time of 38. Elsewhere on the inner sand, Lady Scarlet showed excellent form, covering 800m in 49, including a 600m sprint in 36.

Other horses to catch the eye included Cellini, who clocked 48 for 800m with a 600m time of 36, and the pair of New Star and Sky Bound. New Star, in particular, strode out well over 1000m to finish two lengths ahead of Sky Bound, recording a 1000m time of 1:5 and a 600m split of 37. In the 1400m gallop, Jaandaar and Britannia finished level in 1:38, with Jaandaar showing resilience after starting two lengths behind.

Mock Race Results

The training update also included observations from the mock races held on the race track on October 2. In the 1600m mock race, Gunsmoke finished a length ahead of Immortal Star, clocking 1:46 with a 600m final section of 37. The second mock race, held over 1400m, saw Neutralist secure a comfortable victory.

Neutralist demonstrated a strong finish, moving up from third position to win by six lengths. Rise All Stars finished second, followed by Golden Hues in third. The field also included Talking Point and Angelo, the latter of whom was slowly away and finished a distance behind the rest of the pack. The session provided valuable insights into the current fitness levels of the participating horses as they continue their preparations for upcoming race days.
