Jaandaar Extends Winning Streak with S.A. Poonawalla Million Victory

Jaandaar continued a stellar run of form on Sunday, September 13, by claiming victory in the S.A. Poonawalla Million, the marquee event of the day’s racing card. Guided by jockey Vivek G, the horse delivered a commanding performance to secure the win, further cementing the success of trainer Pesi Shroff’s stable. The victory was claimed on behalf of owners Mr. & Mrs. Vijay B. Shirke and Mr. Jay V. Shirke, representing Horse Haven Breeding and Racing Pvt. Ltd.

The day’s proceedings at the track were marked by a moment of reflection, as stewards, trainers, and jockeys gathered in the paddock to observe a minute’s silence. The tribute was held in memory of legendary jockey Nelson Reuben, who passed away in Kolkata the previous day. Reuben, a celebrated figure in Indian racing, is famously remembered for his 1974 Indian Derby triumph aboard Topmost.
