A quartet of thoroughbreds headlined the morning track work session on Sunday, September 13, as trainers put their charges through their paces.
The training session, which took place across both the inner and outer sand tracks, saw a variety of horses testing their fitness levels. Among the standout performers, Starzella, ridden by Girish, drew particular attention during a 1200m gallop, clocking 1:23.5, with a 1000m split of 1:08 and a final 600m in 41 seconds.
Standout performances on the outer sand
On the outer sand track, Act Of Kindness, with Chetan in the saddle, moved with notable fluidity over 1200m, finishing in 1:26, while covering the final 1000m in 1:12 and the last 600m in 43 seconds. Similarly, Sassy Sarah and Pearl Star both left a positive impression during their 1200m work, recording times of 1:31 and 1:29.5 respectively.
In other notable work on the outer sand, the pair of Carter and N R I Millennium covered 1200m in 1:28, with Carter showing the better form of the two. Dasadya, under the guidance of Srinath, also caught the eye by responding well to urgings over 1000m, clocking 1:15.5 with a final 600m sectional of 41 seconds. Supernal and Royal Jewel both completed easy 600m work, each clocking 46 seconds.
Inner sand track activity
The inner sand track saw a series of sharp sprints and steady gallops. Gachchhatu, partnered by Shreyas, moved with fluency over 1000m to clock 1:06.5, with a final 600m in 38 seconds. A trio of horses—Lorven’s Glory, Rocking Star, and Sassy—all displayed good form over the 1000m distance, each clocking 1:07 or 1:08, with final 600m times of 39 seconds. Agera, ridden by Anish, rounded out the inner track work, completing the 1000m distance in 1:10 with a final 600m in 40.5 seconds, appearing to be in fine condition.
