The morning activity saw a mix of steady work and sharp sprints, providing a clear indication of the current fitness levels of the participating runners. While some horses were kept to an easy pace, others were asked to stretch out, revealing their readiness for future competition.
Standout performances on the sand tracks
On the outer sand track, Evolvita, ridden by Suraj, delivered an attractive piece of work over 1400m, clocking 1-45.5, with the final 600m covered in 42.5 seconds. Master Way, under P. Mani, also left a strong impression during a 1200m gallop, finishing in 1-28, with a 1000m split of 1-11 and a final 600m in 43 seconds. Magnus, partnered with Tousif, matched this intensity over the same distance, completing the 1200m in 1-28.5 and finishing four lengths clear of Southern Force.
Eminent Gold, with Arul in the saddle, moved fluently over 600m on the outer sand, stopping the clock at 41 seconds. Other notable efforts included Gordon, who strode out well over 1400m in 1-46, and Sea God, who was eased up after completing 1200m in 1-29. In a pair gallop, Arc Of Life, ridden by Suraj, showed superior speed compared to Star Studded, finishing three lengths ahead after starting two lengths behind.
Inner sand training highlights
The inner sand track also hosted several sharp efforts. Xaily, piloted by Rajesh K, impressed over 1000m with a time of 1-8.5, including a quick 600m final burst of 38 seconds. Miracle Beauty, under Kiran Rai, produced a similar display, covering the 1000m in 1-8 and the final 600m in 38.5 seconds. Jailer also showed good form, clocking 1-8.5 for the 1000m distance.
Shorter sprints on the inner sand saw Gloriousness, ridden by Suraj, clocking 40 seconds for 600m, while Agrima and Art Of Romance both showed positive signs, recording 39 and 40 seconds respectively over the same distance. These morning exercises serve as a crucial indicator of form for the horses involved as they prepare for their next racing assignments.
