The victory for Duke Of Tuscany, owned by a consortium including M/s. K.N. Dhunjibhoy, Z.K. Dhunjibhoy, Ms. Anosha Meyers, Mr. Rama Seshu Eyunni, and Ms. Anita J. Captain, provided the highlight of a day otherwise defined by the remarkable performance of trainer
Jodha’s dominant day at the races
Adhirajsingh Jodha’s impressive run began in the Azzurro Plate, where Challenge Accepted, ridden by Ramswarup, secured a comfortable victory. Jodha continued his momentum in the J.E. Hughes Trophy, with Sovereign King, under the guidance of Antony Raj S, taking top honours. The trainer’s success streak extended into the Evaldo Plate, where Seneca claimed victory, though the race was marred by an incident near the 400-metre mark when Mansa Musa fell, dislodging jockey Aditya. Fortunately, the rider escaped the incident without injury.
Jodha’s fourth victory of the day arrived in the Noshir & Dolly Dhunjibhoy Sprint Million, a Grade 3 event over 1,200 metres. Encino, with P. Trevor in the saddle, proved too strong for the competition, finishing ahead of Shambala and Market King to secure the win in 1m 8.21s.
Additional race results
While Jodha commanded much of the attention, other trainers and jockeys also found success on the card. In the Star Trainer Plate, Darcy, ridden by C. Umesh, claimed victory for trainer Faisal A. Abbas. The Fourth Estate Trophy saw Esteban, piloted by Avinash Paswan, cross the line first for trainer Narendra Lagad, while the final race of the day, the Capitulate Plate, was won by Exotic Star, trained by S. Waheed and ridden by S. Mosin. The race was notable for the absence of the favourite, Mai Tai, which failed to participate after planting itself into the stalls at the start.
