As the NFL training camps approach, Stefon Diggs remains a free agent, sparking discussions about his future in professional football. The 32-year-old wide receiver, who acknowledges that he may not be among the elite players in the league anymore, asserts that he still ranks above many current No. 2 receivers. In a recent video shared on his YouTube channel, Diggs expressed his confidence, stating, "My opinion, I can compete with anybody. But take those [top wide receivers] as your 1s, right? You can't name a No. 2 better than me."

Diggs became a free agent in March after being released by the New England Patriots, a decision driven by financial considerations. His contract would have accounted for $26.5 million against the salary cap this season. The Patriots opted to revamp their receiving lineup by trading for A.J. Brown and signing Romeo Doubs, leaving Diggs searching for a new team. In his video, he pointed out that while all 32 NFL teams likely have a No. 1 wide receiver, he believes only seven of them are truly elite. "Name your No. 2 receiver right now, and tell me how much he makes, and then my last question is: Is he better than me?" he challenged viewers.

Off the field, Diggs' prospects for joining a new team improved last month when the NFL concluded its investigation into his conduct, finding no substantial evidence of a violation of the personal conduct policy. This decision followed a legal battle in which Diggs was acquitted of charges related to an alleged assault involving his private chef. Reflecting on his journey, Diggs stated, "I brought myself here. Unfortunate at times, but I'm blessed. I'm going to be exactly where I'm supposed to be. ... I'll be fine, I know I'll be fine."
