Rams confirm injury updates for Garrett, Ferguson and Adams

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay confirmed on Wednesday that pass rusher Myles Garrett and tight end Terrance Ferguson will not return to the practice field this week. Both players are currently on injured reserve as they continue their respective recovery processes.

Garrett has been sidelined since undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery in mid-September. Although he participated in the Rams' season opener, the pass rusher admitted following the game that he was not at full health. His absence dates back further, as he also missed the majority of training camp due to persistent knee irritation. While McVay noted earlier this month that Garrett was making progress, the team continues to manage his status on a week-to-week basis. The coach clarified on Wednesday that there have been no reported setbacks in the defender's rehabilitation.

Updates on Ferguson and Adams

Tight end Terrance Ferguson remains out of action as he recovers from an ankle sprain sustained during the Week 3 matchup against the Denver Broncos. His absence from practice this week marks his fourth consecutive week on the injured reserve list.

In addition to the updates on Garrett and Ferguson, McVay provided information regarding wide receiver Davante Adams, who recently underwent a cleanout procedure on his hamstring. Adams suffered a ruptured semitendinosus during the team's Week 6 defeat to the Arizona Cardinals. Despite an initial recovery timeline of six to 10 weeks, McVay expressed optimism that the receiver could return toward the earlier end of that projection.

McVay noted that Adams is in positive spirits and has already shown signs of progress, even sharing a photo of himself walking shortly after the surgery. Before the injury, Adams had been a key contributor for the Rams, recording 30 receptions for 480 yards and four touchdowns across six appearances. The team is now preparing for their upcoming Week 8 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
