2026-27 NBA Fantasy Basketball: Top Undervalued Players to Target

With the NBA landscape transformed by a busy offseason of high-profile player movement, fantasy basketball managers are now deep into draft preparations. While many marquee names command early attention, finding value in the middle and late rounds is often the key to securing a league title. By analyzing current Yahoo average draft position (ADP) data for nine-category leagues, several players emerge as prime candidates to outperform their draft-day cost.

The New York Knicks enter the new campaign with a largely intact championship-winning core, but a key personnel shift in the frontcourt creates a clear path for Josh Hart. With Mitchell Robinson departing for the Boston Celtics, Hart is positioned to maintain a heavy workload. Despite his proven production—averaging 12.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.9 assists across 52 starts last season—he remains available at an ADP of 96, offering reliable output for managers looking for consistent all-around contributions.

Strategic Targets and Emerging Roles

In Minnesota, Jaden McDaniels is poised to build on a career-best season. As the Timberwolves integrate new acquisitions like LaMelo Ball and Jonathan Kuminga, McDaniels’ defensive versatility and improved perimeter shooting—he hit 41.2% of his three-point attempts last year—make him a vital piece of the rotation. With an ADP of 89, he offers a high floor for fantasy rosters. Similarly, Cason Wallace of the Oklahoma City Thunder is a name to watch. With several departures in the Thunder’s backcourt, Wallace is expected to see increased minutes. His elite ability to generate steals, combined with a career 37.4% mark from deep, makes him a potential late-round steal at an ADP of 118.

The Milwaukee Bucks, now in a rebuilding phase, provide an intriguing opportunity for Kel'el Ware. Following his move from Miami, Ware is expected to transition from a reserve role to a significant frontcourt contributor. His per-minute production has been stellar; in limited action last season, he averaged 11.1 points and 9.0 rebounds, with those figures surging when he logged 30-plus minutes. While Myles Turner remains on the roster, Ware’s potential for growth throughout the season makes him a high-upside target.

Elsewhere, Naz Reid’s move to the Charlotte Hornets appears to be a perfect match for both parties. Charlotte’s need for size, combined with the departure of Miles Bridges, should allow Reid to eclipse 30 minutes per game for the first time in his career. Given his strong track record as a starter—averaging 15.5 points and 7.1 rebounds in 77 career starts—his ADP of 62.1 represents a solid investment. Finally, Sandro Mamukelashvili is a compelling late-round option at 120.3. After signing a four-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, he is set to fill the void at power forward left by LeBron James' departure, building on a breakout season in Toronto where he showcased efficient shooting and reliable scoring.
