Stephen Curry Overtakes Oscar Robertson on NBA All-Time Scoring List

Stephen Curry has continued his ascent up the NBA's all-time scoring leaderboard, officially moving into 17th place. The Golden State Warriors guard surpassed Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson during Thursday's home contest against the Miami Heat, marking his second significant climb in the rankings within a single week.

The milestone moment arrived early in the first quarter when Curry connected on a three-pointer with 7:03 remaining on the clock. That basket brought his career total to 26,711 points, edging him past Robertson’s career mark of 26,710. This latest achievement underscores the veteran's sustained offensive production as he continues to solidify his legacy among the league's most prolific scorers.

A Rapid Climb Through the Rankings

Curry’s rise through the top 20 has been swift. Just six days prior, he moved into 18th place by overtaking Dominique Wilkins, who finished his career with 26,668 points. That milestone occurred during a 112-95 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in the Emirates NBA Cup, a game in which Curry contributed 31 points.

With Robertson now behind him, Curry’s attention shifts to the next names on the list. He currently trails Denver Nuggets guard DeMar DeRozan, who sits at 26,775 points in 16th position. The two players are expected to engage in a competitive chase throughout the remainder of the season as they both look to surpass Hakeem Olajuwon, who holds the 15th spot with 26,946 career points.

Looking Toward Future Milestones

The trajectory of Curry’s scoring suggests he will continue to climb significantly higher if he maintains his current pace. Despite being limited to 43 games and 1,142 points last season due to injury, he has consistently produced at least 1,630 points in five of his previous six campaigns.

Should he reach the 1,600-point threshold during the 2026-27 season, Curry is projected to bypass several other legends, including Russell Westbrook at 27,176 points, Elvin Hayes at 27,313, and Moses Malone at 27,490. As the season progresses, the focus will remain on how quickly the Warriors star can bridge the gap to the next tier of all-time greats.
