Ayesha Curry is set to make her debut in a feature film leading role with the upcoming Roku original, Second Chance Holiday. The streaming platform confirmed that the holiday-themed romantic comedy will premiere on November 5, sharing the news alongside an official trailer released on social media this Tuesday.

The project, which was first announced by Roku in July, features Curry in the central role of Chelsey, a dating expert who is determined to overcome a recurring pattern of being dumped during the festive season. As the plot unfolds, she encounters her high school crush, portrayed by Matthew Daddario, leading her to question whether her string of romantic misfortune is actually a sign from the universe guiding her back to a past flame.

A New Chapter in Entertainment

While this marks her first time headlining a feature film, Curry is no stranger to the screen. Her previous credits include appearances in television series such as Disney’s Hannah Montana and Good Luck Charlie, as well as the HBO series Ballers. More recently, she contributed to the animated film GOAT, a project produced by and featuring her husband, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry.

Following the release of the trailer, Stephen Curry took to social media to celebrate his wife’s new professional milestone, referring to her as his leading lady. The couple, who have been married for 15 years and share four children, have frequently supported one another’s career endeavors.

Reflecting on the role in a statement released earlier this year, Ayesha Curry expressed her enthusiasm for the genre. She noted that she found the character of Chelsey to be both fun and heartfelt, and she shared her hope that audiences would connect with the film’s charm during the holiday season. The production brings together a cast led by Curry and Daddario, the latter of whom is the brother of actor Alexandra Daddario, to round out the festive narrative.
