The All
The highlight of the schedule is the senior men’s team’s high-profile encounters. The Blue Tigers are set to open their campaign against Panama in Bengaluru on September 25, before moving to Kolkata for two marquee fixtures against Brazil on October 3 and Uruguay on October 6. These matches represent a significant opportunity for the national side to test themselves against top-tier global competition.
A Comprehensive Development Program for Indian Football
Beyond the senior men’s fixtures, the AIFF has curated a busy schedule for the women’s and youth squads. The India Women’s Senior Team will play two matches against Russia in Kolkata on October 8 and 11. Meanwhile, the youth development program will be in full swing, with the India U-15 team scheduled for a rigorous six-match series in Bengaluru, facing Iran on September 28, 29, and 30, followed by three matches against Uzbekistan on October 8, 9, and 10. Additionally, the India U-17 Women’s team will face the Philippines in Goa on September 26 and 29.
Subrata Paul, the AIFF’s Director of Football for National Teams, described the initiative as a major milestone. He noted that hosting 13 international matches within a single FIFA window is an unprecedented challenge for the federation. He emphasized that the chance to face three nations that participated in the 2026 FIFA World Cup provides an invaluable experience for both the players and the domestic fanbase.
M. Satyanarayan, Deputy Secretary General of the AIFF, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the strategic importance of the series for player development. He pointed out that the caliber of the visiting teams—ranging from World Cup participants like Brazil, Uruguay, and Panama to strong opponents like Russia and the Philippines—will provide the necessary intensity to elevate the performance levels of India’s various age-group squads. The federation hopes that this concentrated period of international exposure will serve as a catalyst for growth across all levels of the sport in India.
