In their statement, the AFA emphasized, “On behalf of the Argentine Football Association (AFA) and its Executive Committee, we express our support for the management carried out during the last 10 years, which had as its main focuses the development of football throughout the world and institutional strength based on a clear, stable and transparent governance model.” This endorsement comes at a critical juncture as FIFA faces scrutiny from various member associations and confederations.
Withdrawal of Controversial Proposal
The AFA's backing follows FIFA's decision to retract its contentious investment initiative, which had faced significant backlash from numerous stakeholders within the football community.
