His transition into coaching and management follows a distinguished playing career that included 92 Tests, 200 ODIs, and 17 T20Is. Within the IPL, Zaheer made 100 appearances, securing 102 wickets at an average of 27.27. Since his retirement from the league in 2017, he has held various roles, including Director of Cricket Operations and head of global development with the Mumbai Indians, as well as a stint as a mentor for the Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the 2025 season.
